Sabrinia Patterson is the owner/director of Digby Dance Studio and began teaching Nia in the summer of 2009. Her first inquiry lead her to the response; "wow, you already have Nia in your name!" It was meant to be. Offering four classes per week in her first season, it became so popular she had to add a fifth class - not wanting anyone to miss out on the Nia experience!

"I came from a strong dance background, so Nia really felt like home to me when I first started. It was really exciting for me to add the element of kicks, blocks, and punches to the shimmies, jazz square, and cha-cha-cha steps I was already using in my other classes."

Sabrinia is a licenced White Belt Nia Instructor and hopes to work her way up through the belt levels over the years to come.

"I really want to take my next belt level with Debbie and Carlos - they are an absolute inspiration to me!"

Update: July 2010 Sabrinia has completed her Green Belt with the one and only Carlos Aya Rosas. "I was absolutely transformed by my experience at Studio Nia in Portland and will definitely be coming back for Blue!"
